Kind of like a discussion with MOBIUS?

Wow, you're like that zombie in 'Day of the Dead' - you actually have a capacity to learn and improve...

Americans are genetically smarter than Welsh. Our ancestors had to sail across a vast ocean, survive in a new land, and fend off attacks from natives and foreign powers. All you guys had to do was make sure you weren't so pissed you could still stumble out of the London area in the general direction of the setting sun.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

The Welch, however, were instrumental in the building of Stonehenge.

Is this where I have to trot out my evidence thread that America as an independent nation was actually founded by the Welsh - not to mention being named after a Welshman...

It's just a crying shame that they lost their way somewhat in the intervening centuries...

                He is great, isn't he...

The USA: Moral of the story - don't piss off the Welsh!

Replying to a post on another thread got me thinking...

Did the United States come about as a proxy struggle between the Welsh and the English...?

Just think for a minute about these facts...

Samuel Adams AKA the "Patriarch of Liberty" and "Father of the American Revolution", basically instigated the protests against the Stamp Act, and was behind the Boston Tea Party.

The American Constitution is based on the philosophies of Richard Price.

Five of the first six Presidents of the USA (and the only Confederate President) were Welshmen...

                John Adams
                Thomas Jefferson
                James Madison
                James Monroe
                John Quincy Adams

Not to mention the All Welsh Civil War between Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis...

So, as far as I can tell, if we couldn't regain independence in England's own backyard - why not do it overseas in her colonies...?

What I want to know is where it all went wrong after such a great start...?

Maybe I should do a 'How Wales Conquered the World' thread - did I mention that Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world is named after a Welshman?

I read it the 1st time and found it unconvincing. Several other posters shot down your "evidence". Try drinking more.

Yeah, I was just about to say the evidence that was shot down, but Theben beat me to it.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

'Shot down' by arguments that were more unconvincing that my original arguments - mainly since when is anything worthwhile named after a person's Christian name...!?

Not to mention the fact that a number of posters also supported my argument by lending some convincing corroborating evidence.

Or for that matter people completely ignoring the efforts of people like Samuel Adams to get your country out from under the yolk of English oppression in the first place.

So to recap, America is: named after a Welshman; was agitated to independence by Welshmen; has a constitution written by a Welshman; began with a dynasty of Welsh Presidents; and interestingly had a civil war fought between two Welsh Presidents...

Apparently the Welsh have high regard for the intellect of a 2 year old. Why am I not surprised?
