    I am nothing but honest with my SO, as he is with me, as that's been a groundrule from the start. It's why we've lasted six years now and counting.

    Ditto with my friends and family. They know they can count on me to be honest at all times.

    Bosses, etc-- different ballgame. I'm very adept at politicking and that's precisely what goes on in the workforce. Honesty doesn't exist in the business world.

    I'll grant you that I'm more diplomatic with my honesty in real life.

      The internet provides not anonymity but distance. People are lazy. You're much more likely to kick someone's ass if they're right next to you than if they're a thousand miles away, regardless of whether or not you know their identity.

          No, but it's hard to be punched out through the internet. I dobut he does it much face to face claiming his right since it's the truth, because most sane people learn after being punched out a few times not to be so high and mighty.
          It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

            This doesn't occur very often because I choose not to surround myself with people that'd require excessive amount of negative comments made in honesty.

            The problem with the internet is if I post here, I need to deal with everyone. In real life, people like Ben are far, far excluded from my circles.

            I've gotten in just one fist-fight in my life, and it was with a "friend" in high school who turned very homophobic very quickly and was spreading **** about me (not unlike Ben here). And I threw the only punch.

              Yet I meet poly people on a regular basis.

              Oh, I was thinking of bringing it up in response to rah, but in terms of family, the last time I saw my brother (3 years ago) we got into a fistfight.

                So when there are consequences you can be diplomatic. That tells me you like being a sanctimonious jerk when there are no consequences. I guess I shouldn't be suprised.

                      Those who hide behind the reasoning of "I just tell the truth as I see it" and are only spewing insults while doing so are just people who enjoy hurting others. There is no need for it and it represents the Highest meaning of the word "Troll".

                        I'm very capable of being diplomatic. It's just more boring and way too much work in situations like this.
