I find it sad to see you down here. I remember a time when you used Poly to be a genuine contributor to the Civ/CtP community. I seem to remember you as actually a very good player indeed, certainly of CtP, who was great fun to have in any MP Game.

What has happened that causes you to have joined a bunch of narcissistic, egotistical, nobodies engaged in nothing more that navel contemplation and nihilistic abuse of each other?

I don't see how it's an obsession. I don't want Ben on this site, I don't ever want to talk to him or hear from him. I also don't want him telling lies about me, lies that are condoned by the mods.

In an ideal world, Ben would **** off and move on and leave me alone and I'd do likewise, but HE keeps stoking the fire.

If posts had counted in the OT for the period of ~6 years when they didn't then my pc would probably be in the 40-50k range (I don't care about it as a dick-measuring competition, but it is a way to measure contributions). Most of the forum content of this site is generated by a few dozen contributors. The rest of you are just spectators. If you want to make poly awesome then consider posting more. Don't think that you can achieve this by having those of us who do post post less.

I've no problem with going to town on Ben. It's just too easy.

I think it's better for the site, though, for the admin to tell Ben enough is enough. He's on my ignore list and I am doing my best not to ever talk to him, but I've got enough pride that when he slanders me I do respond to it (which he knows). If the admin want that shtick to stop, the ball is in their court because I'm doing what I can.

You are deffinately right to respond if someone as wronged you. I just feel that there is probably a certain way in which it should be done so that it makes it nearly impossible to throw back in your face without really making that persona look like an ass only without any arumentatively valid point themselves. Thats all.

You always have the right to defend yourself. This is one of the reasons though that I am a supporter of more heavy Moderating. I've seent his kind of stuff ruin too many good Forums.

Just try to do your best and ignore what you can. Report the rest, even if it doesn't work. Maybe they will get tired of the reporting and do something then, who knows. Just always try to take the higher road, becasue it will make you look better in the end.

That is all just my advice of course and not a hit against you. Please don't take it that way, as it is not inteded as such.

On the BK/Asher thing:

1) BK does in fact lie a lot. Or to put it more charitably, is very skilled at doublethink
2) This can drive even normal people nuts
3) Asher is not normal

Their conflict is that of an immovable rock and unstoppable force.

Asking Asher to stop responding to BK is like asking the tides to stop rising. His responses are inevitable. The only way to stop them from fighting is to divide the internet neatly in two between them.
