Something tells me if somebody slandered you in threads with lies you'd probably rebut them as well.

If we want the threadjacking to stop, it needs to stop at the source. It's not fair to ask somebody to say nothing while somebody follows them around spewing lies and slander. As long as Ben continues to follow me and slander me, I'll continue to respond which I think is more than fair. If you want it to stop, then Ben needs to stop slandering.

Courtesy is doing very basic research before discussing something (one poster I have a 'thing' with NEVER does this, then expects everyone else to do the work for him -- bugs the hell out of me). Courtesy is respecting the integrity of the person you are discussing with so as to actually read and comprehend what they write and respond to that, which is something another poster here never does (he just makes up what other people say, and then to make matters worse he lies about them in the same thread).

There's something you need to understand: superficial courtesy doesn't do anyone any good. A lot of people on this site, maybe perhaps some of the most "polite" people on this site, are the people who truly lack any courtesy for their fellow posters. But to you this doesn't matter -- they're superficially courteous. I see through that ****.

Lets say what your sharing is fact, and I am not disputing your saying you are being followed.

What if you choose to ignore attacks, let the Mods here deal with one side.

When I was a Lawman, I would nail two speeders, have them both in my patrol car, writing up the uniform citations, when someone would come whizzing by, they would say "why dont you go after him?"

To which my reply would allways be, "If I werent tending to this, then I would tend to that"

Would you, could you, try that?

Again, Im not telling you how to run your life, Im not saying your wrong or right, just asking to try an alternative path.

I can think of some people who you have had to go tooth and nail with.

Maybe if we ask them to not attack, follow or coerce you, we could have a starting point, no?

They don't. I have Ben on ignore, but when he posted slander about me I did report it to the mods -- repeatedly. They think it's our schtick so they let it slide. I'm getting damn sick of it, but the mods won't deal with it. Their inaction on it is precisely why I need to take matters into my own hands. What I wanted to do was not even respond to it and just have the mods warn Ben that slander wasn't tolerated, but they would not do that. As a result, I had to take him on myself.

It seems as though there is a big issue here then. People want the Mods to do more, but then they complain when they actually do. Unfortunately you can't really find a good balnace in this kind of circumstance. You either have to have Hard Moderating or practically none at all, otherwise favortism will always get called.
