I think it boils down to a trust factor, even an appearance of of censorship beyond the minimal that is necessary

If say Dan or Ming decided to shutdown say a sub forum, I would envision them folding the posts either into a current forum or archiving, therefor preserving them.

I would not imagine them just singleing out one person and mucking with them.

I have voiced my opinion on how i perceive Ming's authority and remember, perception come from something that has transpired or through verbal committment to a particular stance, something I have picked up....

But, i would not say Ming would pull a Bull$hit stunt the way dale did, that crossed the line


In fact, short story:

When i was a Mod, I helped danQ moderation the Apolyton Community thread, there were several folks who kept over and over asking for some smilies, we stated as a team no plans in the current run to accomodate.

The posters kept on..

So, I went and editted a post by putting beside a request for maybe a frog smiley this:

Something to that effect

Locutus took me to task in our private lounge/forum.

I was merely making a statement to this poster who was not listenting that the smileys were not coming anytime soon.

The point however and yes Locutus made a valid point, was i had no right or permission to do this.


I argued Ming or rah or Solver would but his point was they would only remove and then leave their calling card that something was wrong with the post.

Me, i stepped over the boundary

So, that being said, Apolyton values its posts made by the contributors

Dale broke that trust, no it is not the end of the world, but never the less, he had no authority to single out Asher.

Yes Asher got under his skin, but in certain gaming venues, one must be able to detect when and where to respond, that was, IMHO, way out side the boundary.
