Today morning I put it in my bag and went to work. I also had an issue of Newsweek with me so I read it on the train instead of my handlheld. I did not touch my bag at all at work, and I found out it was missing only 20 minutes ago, when I wanted to copy some data from my desktop.
It could've been stolen on the metro train, or it could've been stolen at work. I doubt it was stolen on the metro train, because the thief was kind enough to put my cap back in and zip the bag back up, but I took a detour today because the green line was served irregularly, so I've spent more time in the crowds. It could've been stolen at work, because someone has been stealing stuff from time to time on our storey, stuff like flash cards and cufflinks, and I've left late today, having spent the last hour or two in a different office, but the thief didn't take my wallet. The thief also knew where it was, because it was rather deep in my bag and not an obvious target. I've taken it out of my bag yesterday to read a bit, so it most likely was someone in the room or someone who popped in during that time and noticed it, not the cleaning crew that comes after the working hours.
I feel subtly violated.
The real question is now: what should I buy instead? I used my iPAQ 214 to read books, surf the web and watch short movies.
