    US crimes in WWII revealed

    Recently I couldn't sleep, so watched TV instead. After switching channels for a while I landed at a WWII documentary called "Hogan's Heroes". You wouldn't believe what those guys did! They attacked a convoy with truckloads of BEER

    And this atrocity was sold as some kind of resistance.....

      Didn't know that show aired in Germany. Is it dubbed in German or aired in English?

        German. I'm told the accents they use for Schultz and Klink make thier characters even more amusing to German audiences.

          Dubbed in Kraut, as nearly all shows here. Some stations show sometimes the original versions though (ages ago Monty Python's FC for example). For HH it's the umpteenth re-run now

            I used to watch episodes of Simpsons dubbed in German before Youtube started making an effort to delete TV shows and movies uploaded by users.

            They do a pretty good job with the matching the voice acting but I think some jokes are lost in the German version of the Simpsons. For example, it isn't clear that Reiner Wolfcastle is supposed to be a parody of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

            BTW, is Ãœter, the foreign exchange student, supposed to have a Swiss German accent?

                Yeah, some stuff simply isn't that great when translated. And sometimes the translations themselves are just bad (meaning, could be better translated). I've seen three seasons of BSG in the original, and then later sometimes watched in German tv dubbed, and it's quite a loss, though they overall did a good job (for example Adama's German voice is quite cool)

                I have no idea, don't watch Simpsons so much. I only know the main guys

                              In Britain in the late 1990s-early 2000s, there was an excellent series of beer commercials about Carlsberg lager.
