  • What people wear in McDonald's

I didn't want to hijack Wiglaf's thread but as long as people are using this forum for their one-off rants, I'll shoot.

I was eating at a McDonald's yesterday, Sunday at noon, in Little Rock. It was full of trashy people who looked like they'd just fallen out of their trailers, which is what you'd expect to see at any other time of the week.

But Sunday lunch people should be coming in wearing suits and dresses right? Church clothes. At least, that's how it was back home. Yes, families eating in Taco Bell wearing suits. I never really thought that might be a local thing only, but apparently so.

So I've come up with three hypotheses to explain this. You guys tell me which makes the most sense.

    a) People in Little Rock are Godless heathens that don't go to church other than Christmas or Easter.
    b) Churchgoers in Little Rock think they're too fancy to take their Sunday lunch at a fast food joint. I will admit, the thought of holy sacrament sharing space in your gut with a Big Mac does make me think twice now.
    c) Churches in Little Rock have really lowered their standards and are welcoming fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ in their jorts and Hooters t-shirts now.

You guys need to tell me quick. I've been trying to find a way to tell them off since yesterday. None of the same people are even here anymore and I've missed my first day of classes.

    Thanks

I'd much sooner go to church than to McDonalds.

I'd like to note for the record that I typically go McDonald's wearing talc and rubber encrusted work boots, talc and somewhat rubber encrusted pants, talc and hopefully not rubber encrusted tee shirt, and a reasonably talc and rubber free cap.

I would also like to note that I have never appeared in church wearing any of these items.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I know, right? And yet for all the **** that flies down there, I haven't made any progress deciding if I would want "the real world" to be more or less like home. The past 36 hours the real world has included ****ty drivers, people who don't know how they look in public, and going back to locking doors, not to mention just returning to the grind.

I guess in a way I can be glad for the amount the rest of the world has progressed if I could've pretty much just posted "church clothes" and gotten a barrel of laughs, but I think you guys are missing out on more than I was.

your post fails to make sense around this point

having now to assume your original point based on this part i would say you are overthinking the entire situation.

tell who off, exactly? People eating at McDonalds that are not wearing church clothes on Sunday? Please video-record those conversations and post them for my amusement

A man hit on me once in a McDonald's urinal. There's only two things a grown man can do in that situation, bend over or commit a hate crime. It's like being late in the fourth quarter and having to go for an onside conversion when your kicker panics and drowns in his own stool, leaving you with a five yard penalty and the hardest decision you'll ever have to make as a coach. It's raining, your balls are out, everyone's looking at you. A tour in Nam can't prepare a naked man for that kind of pressure. I decided to do what a Bill Belichick or a Wynton Marsalis would do and pulled out my cell camera (not code for penis) and told him I always wanted to prove to YouTube I could kick a man's ass without my pants on. He hesitated, like the opposing team's coach when he needs to decide whether it's going to be a squib or an actual onside, before making the apparently easy decision to jizz all over my clothes. It was then I decided to never use a public restroom again.

                              Yup.

I didn't really read the Wiggy thread too closely, other than to laugh at the OP.

                              Would it have helped?
