Elaborate, please.I gave up being wholly against inheritance when I realized that fairness was a hollow lie.
Both about the "hollow lie" and "wholly against" bits. You are now "somewhat against" it? Somewhat for it?
I can probably put together a decent explanation of why you see fairness as a hollow lie, but I'd rather hear your version. In my book, fairness is a pretty decent principle to chase, even though (as with anything, really) we'll never catch it.

I was part of the conversation, and I do vaguely remember it (in particular, I remember discussing the inherent unfairness of the "genetic lottery").
So I could dig it up. But then again, people's thoughts on such things often evolve. I'm curious to how KH thinks about that stuff now.

edit: Oh, and I agree with that old line - inherited wealth *is* repugnant. It reeks of aristocracy. The question is how to deal with the conflict between fairness and freedom there. I think our current estate tax is flawed, but my preferred inheritance tax has flaws of its own.
