It does seem to be what Iran is asking for for a dialogue to start."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

Saying that we will talk to you if you drop your ally is not a dialogue.
Given that they're talking to us (i.e. at the Afghan Security Conference at the end of the month) and Israel is still our ally, I have absolutely no idea what you're referring to."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

I was basing my thought on the post on the first page. If despite saying that, they will still talk to us then OK.
I certaintly would understand those statements to mean that they won't talk to us as long as we support Israel.

The speculation is that Obama dislikes the British due to the Mau-Mau uprising in Kenya from 1952 to 1960. Obama claimed in his first book that his grandfather had been tortured by the British during that conflict. If that's the case, I doubt he'll be any more polite to the Queen, who reigned all throughout the Mau Mau uprising.

Iran does not want us to do anything about Israel. In fact, if we agree to do nothing, "there will be no more Israel" they claim. At least as soon as they overcome all those pesky science and engineering obstacles in growing a sizable nuke program. Pakistan sold them the plans, Russia is building them a prototype, and North Korea was learning Arabic while building a facility in Syria, probably paid for by Iran. Those nukes were going to walk to Israel and Lebanon in the packs of Hamas and Hezbollah, or so some speculation goes.
I see little room for alliance with Iran, even if we did remove Saddam Hussein, their old worst enemy. We need to find energy sources that replace oil and then settle down for the monster watch in Israel. No matter where you go, there you are. - Buckaroo Banzai

Not to suggest there'll be immediate short term implications, but there will be mid-term implications as people tend to promote similar minded people to key positions, and the NIC has a lot to say on formulating future policy.Last edited by Sirotnikov; March 6, 2009, 17:25.

most of the money goes back into your defense industry.
And we're a better ally than you know.
Israeli intel has been very critical of CIA reports regarding weapons in Iraq and our defense establishment pretty much warned you against what's about to happen.
The amount of times we assisted your WOT efforts in major ways, is incredible. Your military seemed to appreciate it so much that our chief of staff was surprisingly awarded a medal honoring his help in the WOT.
