Tell that to the guys at Fort Laramie. Resistance wasn't broken in that area until Sitting Bull and crew fled to Canada. I am from Wyoming, and this history is emblazoned on my brain. In the Ghost Dance era (1890s), TCO is correct, just hunt them down. The nomads never really had a chance, but they did force the military to work from posts for a while.
