  • Don't let Spike hear that! You should always maintain an MC face and boldly claim that you have something up your sleeve to transform a poor position into a winning one.

    • A player as experienced as me would no doubt see through such a ruse in any case.

      • Really, Spike? All that experience, and you completely overlooked the Patton Slingshot to Mornington Crescent that I've been setting up?

        • Oh dear, and there was I clumsily planning my first move since a change of DNS server booted me off the interwomble last week. I'll await Solomwi's new start before plunging in...

          • Go ahead and do the honors, Cort. Let's say... Bingham Ruleset with Reverse Shunt Tokening in effect, shall we?

            • You're a gent, Solomwi. With those rules I'll open with a standard Holgetsbeiter Posture and set up my stall at Baker Street.

That move has been banned since the Berlin convention of 1933, where its ruthless and some say exploitative nature nearly started the (then) second world war.

Frankly I am appalled to see such weapons of mass MC destruction deployed in a modern game and will be taking this up with your government.

I'm not sure where you usually play, Spike, but this is MC, not tiddlywinks. We play for keeps, and aim for a highly competitive, but gentlemanly, game. It was a perfectly fair move, especially considering the effective abrogation of the 1933 Berlin Convention at Potsdam a few years later. Perhaps the Post Stats Challenge is more your speed?

                  That being said... Angel.

                  • Nice play! Furthermore, President Obama gave his blessing to the reverse Heimlich in a speech to supporters in Minneapolis in 2006, so Solomwi's move is entirely above board.

As for Angel, then I have to respond with Kenton. Take that sir!

                      • Since all gentlemanly conduct has gone out of the window I shall transfuggle to Vauxhall.

                        • No need to be bitter, Spike. We ARE playing a competitive game indeed. That's what spices up the game

Finsbury Park, did I spice it up enough?
