DS9 was really inconsistent, it's best episodes were really good, but it's worst were basically unwatchable. If memory serves, there were less unwatchable episodes in the early seasons.
I think seasons 1-3 were better when you'd seen the rest already. I didn't start watching until sometime in season 3 I think, and the early episodes stand up really well.
Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi Wan's apprentice.
*A really daft one where Quark had a spat with his mother, who was marrying the lord of the Ferrengi or some such;
*The one where the crew travels back in time to TOS Enterprise during the Tribbles episode;
*Some episode where the Klingons staged an assault on DS9 and the whole second half was just photon torpedoes flying around and blowing up Klingon ships.
So, yeah. But I'm no Trekkie, and didn't watch it much. Never even saw B5 so I won't comment.
Thank you, Elok for your limited, but sincere input.
B5 was by far the best ever until Battlestar Galactica. BG better not screw up the final season.

My roommate is big into sci fi. He watches Battlestar Galactica and a load of other shows that I just don't get.
Meanwhile I can't really criticize him. While he's at least enjoying himself, I'm busy reading Taxation of Business Enterprises and Consumer Protection statutes.
I found the gray/black color schemes of both shows made them too depressing to watch. Plus, I saw no humor, no joie du vie, no "life" in either show. Why have modern-day sci-fi shows become so pervasively grim?
There was considerable humor on B5. Who can forget Vir's royal wave.

I think it's a bit late to bo honest. From the first 2 and maybe one-half seasons I thought BSG was going to the best ever too. But it's really gone downhill since then - rumours abound about too much interference etc.
You can say what you want about DS9 but it kept getting better and ended on a high.
Ok I will
Hmmm starts at 10 out of 100 and ends up 20 out of 100. It kept getting better and ended on a high but it still was mediocre at best.
