  • Best wings recipe?

Tomorrow is the big game and I'm tasked with bringing the wings to the big Super Bowl party. I went to Costco and got a huge mixed thing of wings and drum sticks along with celery, deep fry oil, Tabasco, whole black pepper corn for my pepper cracker, some garlic powder, all purpose flour, ground Hungarian peprika (the stuff I had was old and I wanted fresher spices), will use the cayenne pepper I already have in the pantry, and some finely granulated kosher sea salt.

Am I missing anything? I was going for the crunch deep fried chicken wings/drum sticks and I'm hoping to make them a knock out success. Anyone have any suggestions. Right now for dipping sauce I have Hidden Valley Ranch but I'm worried that might not be enough. Wings are a serious business after all especially for the biggest game of the year.

In addition to the Hidden Valley Ranch I'm thinking of using a dipping sauce of melted butter and Tabasco with a third sauce of a Bourbon BBQ sauce (mixed with real bourbon, chipotle Tabasco, catsup, and several herbs). Is that over kill or would the ranch be enough? I bought two 5lb packs of wings and legs at Costco so there should be a **** load of wings.

Real men buy wings. They don't swap recipes for them on the internet.

My wings are better. I'm always looking to sharpen my game though. Besides buying them is the lazy way out and I want to do it properly.

I can't believe you and your hipster friends eat wings anyway. Isn't that totally cliche and jocky?

Most of my friends are not hipsters though a few of them are in bands. Most of us are guys around 30 who will be watching the game with our girlfriends so other then the BBQ and the wings the ladies will be handling the rest. Those two items are the domain of men though. One fellow is bringing the burgers, another the hot dogs, while I bring the wings, while the others are bringing drinks. All told about 12 people.

You two should have your own series.

Right, sorry about that Drake. I shouldn't ask a question you can't google.

It's all the following around that seals it.

I think Oerdin should become your stalker so we could have a whole Jack/Kate/Sawyer love triangle thing.

Where do I follow you? This is Oerdin's thread. It's amusing that you think just replying is stalking. But I know the real reason. Claiming stalking is the lame retort used here when someone can't handle the pressure of a poster who bests them. I accept the compliment.
