I was just thinking: The american car manufacturors are in deep trouble right now, arent they? Partly, because they produced heavy cars, which use a lot of fuel. Now, wouldnt it make sense somehow at least, for the oilies to support the caries ? I mean more than for the tax-payers to do it, right?

Unimatrix11, that stinks of horizontal monoply. If the oilies prop up the caries then the oilies will expect the American auto types not to go all hybridy on them with the new car and truck lines. That would kind of defeat the pupose.

Wonder what the oil companies will be doing in 50 years when everything has moved on in terms of energy sources and the oil is mostly gone?
