Why don't Americans just drop taxes all together (not just income taxes, but others too) and have the politicians directly bankrolled by the business like they are bankrolling the elections...

The one who gives more gets what he wants, very much like an auction market, if we can auction for houses and cars, why couldn't we auction politicians . People elect the ones who will be receiving the dough and making the decisions every 4 years. (*they already do that, but at least make it official, and remove the taxes)

No taxes, no government sponsored inefficient programs - inefficiency is history, the market drives everything - economic growth would outstrip China, US would regain its place as the leader of the free world, pure capitalist utopia

Why is it we have to spend trillions to get out of a recession? Back in Carter's time we just had our recession until in ended. We watch commercials where the guys were up to their belly buttons with peanuts, drank Billy Beer and fudged our way through without the trillions we are now saddleing our youth and generations to come with, unless you count the money Reagan spent.

This is the first time ever that I can remember someone (online) mentioned Carter in a positive context

ah well... the motivation above was from one UK newsnight on UK crisis where the US correspondent said - why don't you cut taxes? Where the UK counterpart was: well we have to repay (bailout, etc) it eventually, but the US guy made a sad face and told him that he is just making it all more inefficient, and instead of giving people incentive to work (though tax cuts) UK is just strangling the already hard economic situation...

ah well... I just wandered how would it be that we take this framework and really do a proper tax cut... no more military budget, no more police, people self-organizing protection, education... man can you say ultimate freedom? Like in Kongo, I bet they don't pay taxes there
