Because unlike you, our leaders are not insane. They may be moral midgets and incompetent as hell right now, but not insane.

Plus I doubt Russia would stand on the sidelines allowing it to happen.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Insane world leaders are valuable. The unpredictability keeps potential rivals on their toes. They just have to be sane enough not to go nuclear. That's a major caveat.

Look at Nixon carpet bombing Hanoi over Christmas. That was insane, and it definitely got their attention. A couple weeks later they signed a worthless scrap of paper, and we were able to wash our hands of the mess.

My theory: If Bush were smart and crazy instead of just stupid, America would be in a much better position.

Would it be practical to storm secret police HQs in these countries, publish the identity of informants and agents on the internet, and then watch the regime collapse?

I got the idea after hearing about the panic Stasi went into during reunification. These are big organizations with everything documented. And being tied to collaboration is still a big deal in much of Eastern Europe.

It also plays to America's strengths. A quick hard hit at a defined target. No fussing around with establishing law and order. No occupation. Just take and hold a building or two for as long as it takes to get what you need, and leave. Then eat greasy hamburgers and watch football while horrible things happen far far away.

How the heck did they smuggle him all the way from London to Belarus? They would have had to leave air holes for him to breathe. Didn't he try yelling?

Maybe the best route would be for Mr. Obama to make some inquiries of Mr. Putin. I doubt that Belarus would defy the big bear.

They loaded him drugged and tied up onto a private plane.

Yes, which is clearly why the bombing should commence immediately. They kidnapped an American citizen. **** the UN, **** Belarus, **** Russia. We are the superpower, it's time we acted like one. I would, in complete and utter seriousness, not be against nuclear demonstration strikes against Belarus.

**** with Americans, will you? Boom, mother****er, boom.
