  • Serenity is on SciFi now

I thought the multiple flashback/fakeout intro was not good, but thus far the movie is good.

I had seen the movie by rental long before I knew it was based on the TV series. I later watched the series, which is one of my all time favourites.

Such a shame it won't be more than one Season... ever.

Never seen the series. That movie is flat-out terrific. Maybe the best sci-fi film of the past several years.

My wife and I were a huge fans of the series -- we own both it and the movie on DVD.

The movie was bittersweet for me and other fans of the original series. Two major characters get killed, one of them kind of offhandedly and randomly, plus the knowledge that this would be the last hurrah for my plucky band of space cowboys. But yes, the flick was awesome.

I thought it was a load of tripe, to be honest.

I own the movie. When the series aired originally our cable company had horrible connection with the local Sci-Fi channel transmitter, consequently I missed many of the episodes. The movie really filled in a lot of the blanks for me.

The series played out of order and with weeks strangely missing on Fox, not on Sci-Fi.

The movie sucked because that gorgeous redhead with the big tits who's on Mad Men now wasn't in it.

The movie needed to gross $35 million in order for Joss Wheedon to make any sequels. I don't think it made it. Wish SciFi would buy the rights to the series and start producing it.

Firefly was a good sci-fi show that has been elevated to God-like status by its fanbois. Almost makes me want to hate it. I mean, it's good and all, but its no Battlestar Galactica (re-imagined version, of course)

They've done a great job with Battlestar Gallactica, and Farscape was great.

Whedon has moved on. The Firefly franchise is dead.
