  • So what's with the English?

Why are you all so violent drunks? I know, I know not all of you are. But this is a new years eve out of control. You'd never see this kind of mayhem in the U.S. We are civilized- or perhaps we are so fat off of McDonald's we cannot move.

Violence marred celebrations and led to a bloody New Year across the country. Ambulance control centres reported receiving 999 calls as often as once every seven seconds - the second highest volume of calls since the Millennium.

and this story. not about new years eve, but I'll post it anyways.

More than 500 youths were caught up in a mass brawl as they tried to gatecrash a girl's 18th birthday party advertised on Facebook.

The English keep thinking the world is coming to an end, so they party hard on the last day of the year, thinking it's the end.

Then the next morning they get a rude dose of reality.

Well they can't be as bad as the "French". It was reported that, once again, 445 cars got torched on New Year's Eve. 35,000 police were called up to control things. What a lovely way to party.

Firstly, the Daily Mail is a fear and hate-mongering joke of a newspaper.

Second, there's something funny about someone in the USA sneering about violence in other countries.

there's very little violence in the U.S. At least against people who don't deserve it. Most people who die in the U.S. did so because they pissed people off. Most people don't go around randomly killing people. Or as in England, randomly getting in fights with other people.

oh I'm exaggerating a bit above btw. But most violence is gang violence. And when you live by the sword, you know the rest. hmm. interesting I can put a reason for editing. Let's test this out.

Correction: about 1100 cars went up in flames. Nice

Yeah, really. We only have riots when our courts declare policemen not guilty of trumped-up "civil rights" violations regarding the beating of a crackhead "motorist"

Actually, we export quite a bit of violence as well.

Is New York City oddly low?

America's police force is more of a business: no murders = no business = no money.

What's the year for this? I don't recall DC being that bad for a while. It was mostly the crack. And crack did some horrible **** to DC. Even the mayor was getting high.

Like Dis said, this isn't random violence. It's not like you walk down a nice street in DC and you have a significant chance of dying. You think the people in charge would let that happen? Murder is disproportionately something that happens to people who choose to live outside the law. It's also why gun ownership is linked to being a victim of gun crime. The rough parts of town (Southeast DC for instance) are hell on Earth. That's the price we pay for living in one of the freest nations on the planet. There's less of an invasive nanny state telling us to scrub behind our ears and watching our every step.
                            John Brown did nothing wrong.

yup as the above post said. And as I said. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. Being in gangs isn't exactly a safe activity.

The real question is why there are so many murders in Helsinki.
