  • War now on YouTube

(this isnt about the middle east, it's about the use of internet)

So apparently the IDF now has it's own youtube channel
The Israel Defense Forces is the military of the State of Israel. The purpose of the IDF is to preserve the State of Israel, to protect its independence, and to foil attempts by its enemies to disrupt the normal life within it. The soldiers of the IDF are obligated to fight and devote every effort, even at the risk of their own lives, to protect the State of Israel, its citizens and residents. Subscribe and turn notifications on to keep up with the IDF.

the description on this video says
The Israeli Air Force destroys Hamas smuggling tunnels in Gaza as part of operation Cast Lead. Secondary explosions attest to the presence of weapons in the smuggling tunnels, and the houses in the vicinity reveal a willingness to use innocent Palestinians as human shields.

My favorite is an old AC-130 video from the early part of the Afghan war. The crew is circling a couple buildings, one is a mosque, and they very carefully blow the hell out of everybody in the area without damaging the building.

Europeans may frown on this sort of stuff, but to those of us with a lust for blood, it's pure awesome.

Watch apparently live photos of already dead people! Take the attackers word that secondary explosions are not gasoline or oil stored for heaters or generators! You too, can be dragged into round MMCVIII of the never-ending war for the "Crossroad of the world!"

So, what's the score now? 300 palestinians and 3 israelis? Eh, who's counting...

This seems the appropriate thread to post this gem:

Gasoline tends to flare up pretty well, but my understanding was that diesel and heavier fuel oils tended not to. Which is part of why they're better suited to storage for generators.

I only watched the second of the videos, but it looks pretty clear that a bunch of guys are loading tubes into a pick-up truck, in a totally impoverished region of the world. The explosion seems consistent with those tubes being rockets and not fire extinguishers or baby formula. And remember that the civilians in Gaza are too poor to afford trucks.
