meet up with the girls and sort out tonight's narcotics, then off out with my mates on a pub crawl 'till about 11. after that, as they say in swansea, we'll see what happens (innit butt ). lots of parties we could go to, but i may try and drag people up to motzarts and see in the new year there. after that, house parties all the way, then back home, bit of a smoke and bed, sometime tomorrow, maybe...

A mostly quiet evening alone, listening to music, eating homemade treats and maybe indulging in a few glasses of rum nog. Watching the ball drop with Dick Clark, then going outside and lighting off the fireworks saved since July 4th.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

ugh. I really want to go out. But I'm already getting tired, and I have to work tomorrow. I normally can't stay up till 12 anyways, or much past it.

I rarely celebrate new years eve. Last time I remember celebrating was in Naples, Italy during my Med cruise in the navy. I think that would be the 97/98 new years if my memory serves. I remember I had to be escorted back to the ship for breaking bottles. It was because of me (and others) we couldn't drink out of bottles during ship events (we couldn't even use cans). It was a long cruise, and I had alot of aggression to get out. And a buddy introduced me to Wild Turkey. Anyways we didn't actually go anywheres. We celebrated on the pier. Yippee.

Looking back, I didn't really celebrate, but get drunk. I can do that any day of the year. But what does it really mean to "celebrate" new years? How do you do that without alcohol?
