  • You gotta kinda miss the days of the Third Reich

such a terrible fall from grace.

not that killing and war are cool or anything. But it is kinda cool to have a badass military.

And I'm going to bring this article up for those who seem to think only americans are fat. British and the rest of Europe are quickly catching up.

This is great. If only all militaries were too fat to fight.

I'm not saying war is good or anything. esp. germany's horrible war machine back in the 30's and 40's. But you should expect your fighting forces to be fit.

Even the navy back in the 90's tried to clean thing up. We had a bad image of being fat. The CNO basically said PT 3 times a week. I doubt it helped much, but it's better than nothing. But we aren't exactly front line forces. I'm sure army and marine standards are much more strict.

Considering they're stuck in a hellhole, I'm glad they get some enjoyment by drinking beer and eating what they want. With any luck they'll get sent home soon.

What he actually said was two PRT failures and you're out, period. If you score low enough it becomes mandatory PT five days a week.

“Yes, it is true, the German soldiers in Kunduz are allowed to drink two cans of beer per day,” Lieutenant-Colonel Rainer Zaude, a spokesman for the forces, confirmed.
Kind of makes you wonder how big those cans are.

With regards to world affairs, Germany is probably in a state of depression, humiliation, and focusing on things like humanitarian aid because of their besmirched name and past reputation.

Sort of like Japan took a 180° and focused on technology and bukkake

Well our navy actually shot at pirates these days. With real ammo even!

Them Danes however fished some pirates in emergency out of the water. Denmark soft on piracy

As for the rest of the article, I rather have a fat German than a trigger happy USian on speed...

It's better than Europe. The problem with North America is we also got lots of the "me too" crowd, not just the intelligent people.
