You don't have to be stupid to be religious. Many religious people are just naive and desperate to believe there's more to life than what we have now. Others just do it out of habit or some ****ed up form of peer pressure. For some people it's all they know so they're not eager to genuinely question their faith.

If any intelligent person truly questions religion, there's only one real answer. The problem is breaking down the sociological and psychological barriers that prevents intelligent people from questioning their faith.

But Asher, you have no proof either that God doesnt exist..or do you?

I know you are well versed on many things and have much respect for your tech expertise.

But what gives you "expertise" on whether God exists or not?

Certainly not you, your human.

Im human as well, I have Faith..and I am not perfect, far from it.

But I am not saying you have to or dont have to.

what i am saying, however, is you have no knowledge that "defines" zero existence that God does not exist.

I am very entertained when you try to thwart efforts of superior people such as Ming or DanQ, but in reality, do you honestly think you have some exclusive information that sets you on high and can show all that God doesnt exist?

I ask Asher, since you are pretty direct about how you feel about people who do trust in God.

Its not my decision on where you spend eternity, or how you feel in your heart while in the flesh.

I am not bashing you Asher, merely stating you or anyone else could logically say you dont believe in God but thats not what your saying, your saying a person who is intelligent must question their faith...

Hebrews 11:1 states Faith is the substance of things hoped for and things yet unseen

Faith is something that cannot be defined by Intellect, or by the smartest or less than smartest people in the world.

I know your passionate about many things, I also know you insult when you cannot get people to change their mind.

I have read many posts and counterposts of yours, you seem very intelligent, you ask many times for tolerance but as many here, failure to adhere to the same rules they want others to adhere to.

I am simply asking why you think you have this "pure knowledge" of God not existing?

I knew it. Any discussion in the OT with Asher posting in it always seems to go into religon at some point. He's like an atheistic mirror image of BK.

The ability of rational, analytical thought when combined with the overwhelming scientific evidence we have that directly contradicts every single holy book for every single religion provides a good basis that God does not exist.

Not the least of which is the idea that even if God does exist, and he is omnipotent, he'd create beings which would unknowingly have knowledge God exists rather than faith. Additionally, why would any Just God ask his followers and children to sacrifice for him, why would he ask them to worship him?

There's way, way, too many flaws in the concept of religion for any reasonable, intelligent person who has truly questioned his faith to have that faith.

I am not an educated through school type of person, but do have a large and vast amount of varying life experiences.

I am not saying you have no right to denounce God, many have and that is between God and you, if you dont believe in God, then you wont have any concern for eternity.

Now, my point was you have a multitude of experience but when you boil down what you said here, it comes out an opinion, not factual.

You have questions and heck, I have questions, some wont be answered this side of the River Jordan, but will be made manifest in Heaven.
