I'd recommend a background check on the surgeon and ask around to see if you know anyone who has used him, even though its a "routine" surgery.

However, if you felt well enough to leave, that one had passed. Now you need to work with a medical person you trust to determine if this is chronic or more of a one-time thing. There will be more eventually unless the gall bladder goes. However, that gland has a use in your endocrine system and it could be years before the next stone.
