  • Movies you never saw?

Everybody has them. I've had few, Philadelphia I've been meaning to see for YEARS now. So now I'm finally watching it, about halfway through and IMO it's a really really good movie. It makes you think about things, like how does it feel to be a person with HIV, or when AIDS starts to happen and it shows on you... then people treat you like you're the plague itself, like you're garbage, and then that you deserved it because you are a drug user or a homosexual or whatnot. How that everyday rejection must feel, being treated like a rat. I don't know. I tried to imagine it but I can't, it seems so overwhelming. And then, it's an illness, it's not like you need that extra crap on top of it. If you have many other illnesss, people have compassion for you or at least leave you alone or treat you as an equal, or even help you a bit. BUt in this case, not very much so.

Another movie I watched today was Illusionist. I did like that one as well.

What movies do you have on your list, and let's make a rule that it shouldn't be something that just came out. Something you've been meaning to see for a long time but never got around to it?

The one I really want to see but somehow never got around to is The Shawshank Redemption.

I'm sure there are more, but that's the one that springs to mind.

Really? How about renting it for the weekend? It's a good movie, you should see it. Preferrably tomorrow.

JR... I've got the DVD. You can pick it up tonight. It's well worth seeing. Elle bought it for me, and she claims it's her favorite movie. It's in my top 10.

I've always wanted to see Blood Simple and catch how the Coens got their start, but it's not on Netflix and I never get around to buying it.
          Unbelievable!

            It is an excellent movie.

Personally, never watched Lawrence of Arabia even though every so often I get the urge.

When ever my wife leaves town I watch Epics, because she hates long movies. Papillion is another good one that I put along side LoA and Ben Hur.

The one about the German spy and the English lady, the English Patient, that came out several years ago. Several friends said I would like the convolutions. Of those mentioned, I have seen several of those on Showtime or Starz fairly recently. The Mrs and I don't go to many movies at the theater anymore; too much hassle.

Dr. Strangelove. I have seen bits and pieces of it on TV and at work, but I have never seen it all the way through.

Z, Titanic is alright if a little overromantic, the rest are mostly a waste of your time.
