Is there a channel showing texan executions ?
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

      The History Channel is tv

HBO is TV too. The only thing I think should have been done different is it should have been labeled TV14 or TVMA.

Maybe they should have a beheadings channel for this.

It's a good poitn though. Would they show a real rape? Say a true massacre? No they wouldn't. So they draw a line, and obviously a beheading attempt still was seen as an OK thing to show without much warning on a history show.

I'm definitely not saying it should be banned. No way. I'm saying some kind of a system should be there to protect viewers who don't like to watch beheadings. You can't undo those images.

This is nothing new though, you see JFK getting shot again and again, in slow motion and different angles and it is quite graphic, half of his face comes off. However, there must be some kind of a line anyway, otherwise you could show gang rapes if you really want to and say, hey, life is brutal.

That's the preferred solution. Warn people then show it.

Back when they had Movies in Time, I was watching it with a buddy, and they were showing a movie about the Dieppe raid. The rating came up "TV-PG" and a couple minutes later a whole ****-ton of dudes started getting wasted on the beaches.

Not like Saving Private Ryan of course, but still pretty gruesome for the sort of rating they give to Friends and the Simpsons.

I think they figure that it's educational and so they can get away with a lot more.

Along the lines of horrific viewings on television, a few days ago, I watched a documentary on Animal Planet that showed a group of chimpanzees hunting colobus monkeys.

When they caught one, the chimps basically tore the monkey apart while it was still alive.
