        See, this is the problem. Why insist on a movie?


        Well that's the point. Fans should realize that a movie adaptation is NOT going to be exactly same and may differ quite a bit on some aspects. I don't think they should insist on a movie all the time, but they appear to love the idea of it, but hate the practical application.

        Mini-series work, but only if you can sell it. George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire works because HBO is really loving the ratings its historical works have gotten (SoIaF being, of course, a medieval fantasy allows for that "look") and with the LOTR movies, fantasy is currently in vogue on the small/big screens.
