  • Watchmen Movie: Epic Fail

    Exhibit A:

director Zack Snyder confirmed that the new ending for the film (screened in previews for eager fans) is indeed the version headed to theaters...Snyder's version will include a new, potentially more upbeat ending.

    Upbeat?!?!

    Exhibit B:

Leaving aside the fact that Ozymandias (and really all the characters) are much older in the book than in the movie... doesn't this one kinda give the whole game away?

    Exhibit C:

    They're actually calling themselves "Watchmen"?!

"The subject of onanism is inexhaustable." --Sigmund Freud

Well, they gave a more upbeat ending to The Little Mermaid and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. There's nothing sacred for Hollywood.

Wasn't there a Russian super hero movie which was loosely based on the Watchman? I think it was like two years ago or something.

        Daywatch/nightwatch ?
Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity. The goals of the group and the greater race are transcendant, and to embrace them is to acheive enlightenment.

When will fans get the message that big market movies are out to capture a much bigger audience than just existing fans of whatever story they are remaking? A movie like Watchmen could not get made if the only demographic they expected to show up were fanboys.

And Cloverfield too. Cheering went on for 5 minutes when the credits rolled.

Welll, I'd suppose it could just mean a 100% sure peace, instead of the "oh crap, Rorchachs diary will wreck everything" from the graphic novel. I remain cautiously optimistic.

Haven't read the comic, but that poster makes it look like the movie's costumes were designed by the same dude who did the ones from Joel Schumacher's mega-campy Batman flicks.

Alan Moore, co-creator of the "V For Vendetta" comic, has publicly disassociated himself from the upcoming Warner Brothers movie project based on the comic book and written and produced by the Wachowski Brothers. And as a result, he has cut his remaining ties with DC Comics, including future volumes of the "League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen."

The Wikipedia listing on Moore sums up all the problems he has had with many different companies. It was a fun read.

And he would not agree with you on the movie version of V

                              And?

Just because Moore is a whiny ***** doesn't mean that the "V for Vendetta" movie wasn't good.
