Egad! According to Thefreedictionary.com, Black Cat's right:

        pizza
        Noun
a dish of Italian origin consisting of a baked disc of dough covered with a wide variety of savoury toppings [Italian]

You are just a vicious shapist. America has moved beyond such base thinking, but I see your part of the world is still backward in this regard.

Dictionary.com disagrees - it does not require roundness.

a flat, open-faced baked pie of Italian origin, consisting of a thin layer of bread dough topped with spiced tomato sauce and cheese, often garnished with anchovies, sausage slices, mushrooms, etc.

Only on Apolyton could you actually find a debate on the topic of pizza.

I'm pretty sure pizza debates occur daily in college dorms. Particularly if weed is involved.

Typical yankyness - you think that a sqare pizza taste as good as a circular !!! You are very wrong - it's the circle that gives the extra flavour that differs a real pizza from those "baked cakes" you suffer at

Well, that is not quite true - we don't debate 48" pizzas, those we just laugh at

Typical Dane. We all know of the Danish infatuation with circles in food. Danish pasteries, frikadeller, butter cookies, etc. When will you people learn that food doesn't have to be circular!
