The price of oil did go up as the dollar weakened, but demand for oil didn't slack off even with the higher prices until we started into Great Depression #2. Now that the dollar is strengthening, due to a variety of factors, the price of oil has collapsed, but we're not seeing demand pick back up.

Whoha, like I said: stop trying to confuse Kid. He still hasn't managed to wrap his head around the fact that the currency you decide to denominate oil in does not matter, which is pretty much the most obvious thing you can say about foreign exchange rates.
