BARRIE–Police in Barrie confirmed today that a witness spoke to a 15-year-old boy the day he went missing after an argument with his parents.

A woman has come forward saying she spoke with Brandon Crisp on Oct. 13 and noticed he was having trouble with his bike, said Sgt. Dave Goodbrand.

Police found the abandoned bicycle Monday in a ditch northeast of the city in the Shanty Bay area.

"We've confirmed that a person walking in the area on the path on the day he was missing did in fact speak to him and confirms that he was here, and he was having problems with his bike at the time," Goodbrand said.

"We're focusing (the search) here because it's really the only concrete evidence we have to his possible whereabouts."

The teen ran away from home after he got into a fight with his parents, who'd taken away his Xbox.

His parents say he was spending too much time playing "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare," an online war game.

Goodbrand said a background investigation is also continuing.

"We're still involved in the schools, and working with the schools and the students and their social networks to see if any information is coming through, and we're also still analyzing the computer and Xbox," he said.

Police were also canvassing area residents and motorists.

I also like how the police are still "analyzing the Xbox". I'm sure they're analyzing CoD4 pretty well.

Why would internet gamblers be interested in him adn in what way? Or organized crime for that matter?

Clan holding him against his will? That seriously sounds weird, but then again he has no idea what they are so it must suck for him to have all these scenarios in his head and think they're so real. I'd be more worried about "real life dangers" than the game right now.

First he let his kid play too much games anyway, then he "called his bluff", which wasn't a bluff but fueled his motivation to not come back so soon, that's two strikes right there. Now he thinks some clan is holding him against his will. I won't say what a crappy father, I'm sure he is overwhelmed and very worried and in panic, but come on. Spend more time with your kid even if that means making less money, especially if you have luxury cottages, meaning you aren't doing it for the "feeding the family" reasons anymore.
