Nah. it was when the Huns drove the Sarmatians into close proximity to the Germans and the Germans learned to fight on horses that K. O.'ed the Roman empire. That and sheer Roman stupidity.

Let's say you're Rome. These people come into your country, you give them the choice of starvation or slavery, they defeat you in battle but incredibly lay down their arms. So you take their men into your army, and are really, really stupid enough to organize them in their own legions, then you continue to treat these people, who had already beaten you once, as if they were slaves. So their legions, all nicely equipped by you, revolt and rip you a new one. Eventually you wind up giving them Spain and Portugal, so their cousins, finding out that Rome is giving away whole countries with a view of the ocean come by for their share. The Vandals take North Africa, the Ostrogoths take Yugoslavia and Italy, and the Franks take France. Hey, what do you got left?! Nothing! I don't see where the Christians fit into this sorry series of events.

I think you misunderstand me. My aversion to Christianity and Islam stems from some rather distasteful ideas and attitudes their ideologies contain, not because I think Christians or Muslims a lesser people or anything.
