Likely they wouldn't understand. It's not cultural there. Imagine if every year people from Belgium painted their house pink with orange balloons the third Tuesday in May. One moves over here to the US all involved in the tradition and sure enough he paints his house pink, puts up a bunch of orange balloons. He wants to share the wonder of a pink house with balloons with America. People would not understand.
