To answer the original post.

Because they only want power and democractic procedures are not going to give them power, so they distort the process. Many of them are out for an evil lust for power, wealth and influence. Others, simply think that they know what is best for everyone else and in their own perverted view of morality, think it best to do whatever they must, to force their superior view on everyone else.

I am not sure if the opposite is true of Democrats, but they are vastly less willing to make "big lies" and much, much less willing to commit election fraud.
