These people perplex me and other Jews and Israelis. Of course these people are stark raving nuts. They believe their holy text as literal truth and want us to rebuild the temple so the antichrist can come and then the apocalypse and the redemption. So they say they are on our side and they honestly believe they are.

However trying to rebuild the temple would require tearing down the Al Aska masque(sp?) and taking back the Temple Mount, which would start world war 3, or at least, start the largest war in the history of the middle east. So we have people who want to be our friends and are cheerleading for us with happy smiles….. but they also want us to cause EITHER world war 3, or the apocalypse. But it gets worse! Jews have to be tolerant of other peoples religious views for theological reasons I won’t get into here. Some of them are rampant anti semites, those are easy to deal with, they are jerks. However not all of these fundamentalist Christians are jerks, some of them are very, very nice…. so we have these people who just smile so damn much and are nice and enthusiastic and rooting for us…. you can see our problem.


There is no grand conspiracy and the actual political power these folks have is negligible. Americas friendship with Israel at the end of the day, in the worst scenario is simply the fact it is the only nation in the region we can use as a military base if serious conflict breaks out in the region. There is friendship and economic issues and lots of other good stuff, but at the end of the day the biggest reason for America and Israel’s relationship is a national security one.

Mostly, I try to be nice to these people and quickly get away from them because they are stark raving mad and SMILING so damn much and also because I am afraid they may take something sharp and hurt themselves, or someone else. While smiling.


Also, as the only Jew in the thread so far, I feel like I have to be a spokesperson. The overwhelming majority of Jews hold no ill will of any sort towards the U.S. for not intervening for the holocaust, so don’t be offended on our behalf.

How exactly do you save them by bombing stuff? Is it that the killers will just stop if you bomb railways nearby? Or that they can't kill those they want to exterminate elsewhere if the railroads to the camps are blocked?

That's all BS. Rwanda has shown that it doesn't need sophisticated technology, large infrastructure or whatever to kill lots of people in relatively short time, just with simple means. Such a killing spree that involves large masses of the own people isn't probably what the nazis would have done, but they sure had ways. Remember that mass killings via executions took place long before the death camps and gas chambers were built.

1944, at the time of complete Allied air superiority, at the height of Allied bombing campaigns, Germany still managed to have the highest output in terms of weapons etc - read about that Speer guy. Allied bombing never stopped war production, Allied ground troops did when taking important industrial cores.

So? From the attack in summer 41 to the end of the year ca. 400000 Jews in the occupied parts of the USSR were killed without deathcamps (by Einsatzgruppen etc). That's quite a lot in ca. 6 months, given that the overall number we have is ca. 6 million. Auschwitz has killed ca. 1,5 million, but in 4 years....
