  • What is gravity?

I've heard of gravitons, have they ever been detected?

Gravitons are emitted from everything which has mass to pull on everything else that has mass, yes? So my cup of hot chocolate is having some small interaction with everything else in the universe, yes? What is that, an extra dimentional thing?

Gravity is what makes a frog whomp his ass when he hops.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Lancer, i'm sure the HLC will tell us. Have they anything interesting to show yet?

Gravitons haven't been detected yet. Physicists are much more divided about their existence than on the existence of the Higgs (which pretty much everyone would bet on as a sure thing).

I have a strong doubt that the LHC will be able to tell us. Also, we don't expect any results from the LHC for another 2ish years. And that will be early preliminary results.

To note, my experiment ran early in 2006 and we just started getting preliminary results last year (and it is a lot less complicated than the LHC experiments).

              Thanks for the info JM.

Frosty, the LHC is seriously broke, the poor thing. It won't be able to destroy the world for a while yet.

What is the correlation between gravity and age?

Gravity is weird, such a weak force on a galactic scale, i remember reading odd theories that's a cross over from other dimensions and random things like that.
Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity. The goals of the group and the greater race are transcendant, and to embrace them is to acheive enlightenment.

Gravity's a fraud perpetrated by the establishment and the entrenched Newtonian movements. It goes against the very notion of God and Intelligent Falling.

Actually, on a galactic scale, gravity is very strong because the other forces don't propagate well over long distances. That's why galaxies and stars and the like are able to form. On the smaller scale, the strong nuclear force and electromagnetism are much more relevant (and powerful).

Gravity is one of the four fundamental forces in the universe.

Einstein spent the last several years of his life trying to unify them with an explanation of a single theory of force. He coudn't do it.
