Wow, after just over a month to go before the US election the polls are changing fast now for only the second time in months. The first big move happened when McCain got a 5-8 point boost out of the Republican convention. The problem is the post convention bump has now played out and the current economic crisis has resulted in a 5-15 point shift towards Obama which is huge given that months went by with the polls only changing 1-2 points in total.
According to the internet polling site 538 the pro-Obama shift has been so large and so swift that not only has Ohio become solidly Obama but so has traditionally red states such as Virginia and Nevada while even Indiana (a very red state) is now a toss up. Even two reddest of red states (North Carolina and Missouri) are now only a few points from tipping. This is the first big shift in a long time in this election and it will be interesting to see if it lasts.
