Why do Finnish people look weird?

Is there some reason being Jewish makes you have long beards? For example if I suddenly converted to Judaism, would my hair grow a lot or what happens with that?

There's a series of ads running in the Toronto area for a "DIA - MOND store" (Diamond is a heavy two syllable word in their ads). There's some kind of Hebrew music playing in the background, the guys are wearing all black with the long beards, and they're wearing those traditional Jewish hats also...

"BRING US YOUR DIA-MONDS..AND WE WILL GIVE YOU CASH."

It's actually pretty disturbing.
