If this Banksy moron doesn't want his art painted over he should try canvas.

I bet Banksy is laughing his ass off over it.

Point being not all the work he does is for his own profit. He'll tag a place and leave it to the owners to decide whether to leave it up, auction it off, or ignore several media outlets in New Orleans reporting that a world-famous artist/tagger was in the city creating his wares which are worth small fortunes to those willing to pay. This was Banksy's way of helping at least some people in NO. Would it have been better to just give them money? Duh. But obviously Banksy didn't see it that way.

As dumb as this guy is for not profiting off this, he's still smarter than the people who would pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for Banksy's "art". At least he's only out five bucks.

How do they transfer the ownership of the work at question? Tear down the wall and haul it to the new owner?

And of course, that guy "destroying" the bit might not be the owner of the house.
I've allways wanted to play "Russ Meyer's Civilization"

Look at the building. Do you think it's worth as much as the art?

You make a good point, though. We don't know who that guy is in the world.

In past cases it was "peeled" off the wall with some sort of procedure. I'm not sure if that's very smart since the value of Banksy's work largely lies with the relationship to its environment.
