And why did Obama pick Biden? I mean... Obama had McCain against the ropes, McCain was looking like this old man who gives you cookies and talks weird stuff, visiting camp sites and talking about things he can't remember.

Why did he pick Biden over Clinton? I mean, was he thinking he'd win regardless? Sure, Clinton is obnoxious and an irritating person, but at least then he could march into victory. Now? It gets tight and you never really know. Biden? Seriously? If Obama loses, it's like Bush vs. Kerry, I mean look at the weaknesses your opponent has and you STILL MANAGE TO LOSE? Is that the paradigm of democrats, kind of like Buffalo Bills losing consecutive superbowls, just challenging reality and odds, almost turning mathematics into an irrelevant and unrealistic subject with their losing streaks?

I didn't think Pekka knew what was going on in our election, but it looks like I was very wrong.

Of course I know everything. It is only a question of what I want to say and what I choose not to say. Of course I know everything!

Anyways, here is why the democrats suck, and it's not that republicans don't suck, oh they do suck.

But democrats suck mainly because they can't even score victory when it is handed to them. They fumble it all by themselves. It is as if they have no direction what so ever, no plan, nothing. Just bunch of high profile douches running around and saying things when no one is listening. The biggest problem with them is that they do not learn from their past mistakes. They didn't learn from Gore, they certainly didn't learn from Kerry either. We all know Americans will likely vote for some average douche, who they can identify with. Now, you have to cater them, you can't be distant like Kerry was.

Obama was the perfect candidate and had the perfect time to win, but now, who knows. He lost the independent women vote, he lost the soccer mom vote, he lost lots of votes by dumping Clinton. You don't have to make out with her, you make up, win, then marginalize her to the best of your capabilities and forget she exists. But if you're going to be cocky and think you're going to win it because the press says you're like Kennedy, well guess what, you're supposed select VP that gets you MORE votes, not zero votes. Who is Biden again? I don't know. Some old dude who seems like a douche to me. He could have gotten many Clinton votes, now he won't. That's stupidity, throwing away free votes.

I mean who thinks they got Palin because she is so professional? All we know she knows nothing and is a douche. But she gets votes, lots of Clinton votes. What votes will Biden get? The weird and obscure "I'm a relative of Biden" votes. He brings 0 value to the election, so that's the same as negative, you had a chance to get anyone you want, who could bring you most votes possible, and you select Biden? I bet I'd get more votes than Biden, as the weird new dude, with even less experience than anyone else. Just like Kerry, what the hell was Edwards doing there, he should be in a soap opera. Should have gotten Clinton... even though we all hate her. But she gets votes. It's like they forgot what it's about. You can laugh that Palin is an idiot by all margings, yes it's true, but no one will vote for Biden, so who is the idiot now?

I think it's all true, but no politician would have chosen Clinton because they are all cockey and selfish.

So you're saying the dems are the Rex Grossman of politics?! That's insulting to... one or the other.

FTR, the 'mommy swing' for Palin was in reality the right wing women getting politically active. Very few Clintonians went to the Palin-McCain McCain-Palin ticket.

The thing is, yesterday at the coffee shop I talked to a guy who said things like this:

If you believe in Capitalism, you have to vote McCain because Obama will change our country into a socialist one. Or Palin is real, she doesn't owe anyone anything. Or stuff of that sort.

I don't know, McCain has caved in to the far right in order to energize their base, at the expense of the moderates and his own ideals. He seems like he's no longer even interested in winning in his speeches.

True. It's hard to believe. Most people would probably take anyone as VP so long as they would be assured of winning.

I tend to agree with you. I think Hillary would have given Obama the blue-collar vote in the Ohio River Valley (Eastern Penn; Ohio; Indiana; Southern Illinois), and that would have given Obama the election.

My best guess is that Hillary had two strikes on her: (1) how to control Bill Clinton and (2) Hillary is a creature of the 1990's; Obama wants to lead into the future.

Still, if I were Obama, I would have chosen her.
