    Wait. What body impeaches them?
    Does anyone know the answer to this? I think the congress impeaches its own but I don't this has ever happened.

      Congress has all powers of impeachment.

        Articles I and III are also silent on the USSC's size, so Congress is free to arbitrarily add new justices just to shift the balance on issues, but this takes a huge degree of political capital unseen since the Civil War (even FDR couldn't pull it off).

        Also IIRC while Congress obviously can't abolish the USSC, its regulatory power can be used to suspend the USSC's term for a definite period, but I don't think this has ever been tried.
