I've got ED because of Snoopy...

Yup, you guessed it, Empire Deluxe. Snoopy helped me find the game manual that I needed to start the game, much appreciated.

Any of you guys ever play this very simple early empire building turn based game?

I love it when an enemy battleship wanders in off the ocean at the worst possible spot, or when three transports full of troops unload on a strategic island. Well coordinated seaborn invasions by the AI are fairly rare even in Civ, yet this game pulls it off on a regular basis. Simple but good.

ED, its not hard.

It's a great game. I played it before catching the civ bug (if it's the one I'm thinking of).

notyoueither, I can't play Civ IV at the moment, and am burned out on Civ III. Ive come back to this simple game several times and its reminded me how good it is every time.

It is quite good.

I recall the other standbyes were Warlords and a game of medieval province management and conquest (was very good) but I can't recall the name.

Warlords was awesome. We would play 2 or 3 games in a row with 4 to 6 people in hot seat, and the AI was competent.

My friends played Warlords because they had comps that could handle it. They showed me a guy screaming his head off "H E L P, WE'RE BEING ATTACKED"

That doesn't sound like the Warlords I recall.

The other one wasn't fantasy. It was medieval Europe. You would manage your provinces, recruit armies, and then go bashing heads.
