It's not about whether or not McCain can take it. If all the Democrat's fire is on Palin, then McCain goes unscathed. Meanwhile, the GOP attacks Obama. Heap enough mod, and some of it's gonna stick. It was Bush's trick in '88.

In any event, teh "ladies" realize that if McCain wins, tht means he gets to pick the next few Supreme Court justices, which means Roe v. Wade goes bye-bye.

He was in charge of putting Bush's original energy policy together. He invited oil company executives to the White House and they wrote the policy. So is it really Chaney's? You decide.

Well, if the Democrats pick up some Senate seats and get a clear mayority Lieberman can kiss any leadership position goodbye. There is no way in hell the Democrats forgive him for this.

He'll be in a good position to work with president McCain however. Cross the isles, work with both parties...

Are you suggesting we should craft an energy policy without input from the people who supply most of our energy?

Not that the Bush Administration would admit such things were torture. The NK's were just using innovative interrogation techniques.

There seems to me to be a rather wide gulf between "without input" and "having oil men write it."

Well, if McCain wins, I can see him be SecState or something. If Obama wins, I guess the Republicans will be somewhat happy to pick up another vote for majority leader (or at least McCain will make them happy.. because even though he'd lose, he'd still be the leader of the party).

Yes, there is a wide gulf between what actually happened (input) and the make believe fantasies of hacks (write it).

Sorry, but I don't see how if McCain loses the Republicans will keep him as a "party leader" anymore than Democrats kept Kerry as a party leader.

How would you know what happened? Cheney kept the whole thing secret.
