  • What separatist / autonomous regions have you been to?

Counting special status of autonomy or strong tendencies to separatism

I can count the Spanish basque provinces, which have both.

Then Catalunya, which has the autonomy but not so much the separatism.

Can't think of any more at the moment. Thought I could come up with some stuff outside of Spain, but no.

The entire US is a separatist region.

I've been to Northern Italy and considered counting it. The more I think about it the more I believe it should count

Austria and the US are sovereign states.

Well, there are some separatist Silesian loonies, so I could say I am from one. I've been to "Padania", Bavaria, Bretagne, Languedoc/Occitan region of France, Provence, poth french and spanish parts of Euskadia, Catalonia. I think I was in Abkhasia, but I was a child (I was in Sochi and we've had a trip on some island south, as well as I remember we were on some border, which didn't look as border at all, so it had to be Russian SSR/Georgian SSR (Abkhasia) border.
I've been to Slovakia before Tchechoslovakia collapsed, and in Georgia (Abkhasia), Belarus and perhaps Ukraine before USSR collapsed. I've been to three parts of Belgium.

I've seen Voivodina from behind a river. Does that count?
