Wow, project much? How is me pointing out the stupid act of noting a weapon is semi-automatic AKA normal in any way related to anything you just said?

Most folks who aren't familiar with guns don't think of pistols as semi-automatic, even though they are. More likely, what they meant is that the police were armed with assault rifles, as this was a SWAT.

If they are SWAT, then the "assault" rifles (another stupid meaningless adjective ) would have been automatic.

I thought the term "assault rifle" referred to a specific style of weapon? Two-handed, can fire semi- or full automatic, sometimes with burst fire? Oh, and Wiki says above a certain caliber they're called "battle rifles," but as always this comes with the proviso that anything on Wiki may be utter horse crap.

These people are a bit to hysterical for my tastes but here is another group which committed absolutely no crime yet all the members are arrested and their "sustainability education bus" was impounded. Lastly wtf did Homeland Security order this bus stopped, the people arrested, and their bus impounded all the while refusing to tell them if they violated any law? Republicans are just way out of control violating people's civil rights.

They seem to be getting blanket authorization to detain and search whoever they want, and they are using that to do it to every protest group that they can.

They're also using their power to try to limit the effectiveness of the protests.

There is literally no police power that the state can exercise that will cause much protest from the political and media class and, therefore, from the citizenry.

Beyond that, there is a widespread sense that the targets of these raids deserve what they get, even if nothing they've done is remotely illegal.
