  • For all those Mac users out there looking to help solve an inane problem in OT

At whatever GHAT DAYUM hour it is in your should be NECKED neck of the woods.

Running Adobe Illustrator. Can not use hot keys in it. They are unresponsive. (ie command +/- to zoom in and out). No other program has unresponsive hot keys.

    WHY must this be so?

    ZYLKA!

Recompile your kernel with the proprietary Adobe extensions. Then use emacs to edit /etc/adobe.conf and set "****_WITH_USER" to "-1" and "UNDOCUMENTED_SETTINGS_31 to "42". Uninstall GTK 2.4 and install GTK 2.2 (this will break most of your other applications) and then write a shell script to launch Illustrator with the following options: -kwavig_extra -keyboard -m$_sucks and pipe the output to stderr. Don't forget to add the ampersand to the end to keep the program running after you close your terminal.

**LOL** Asher's "advice" aside, Zylka, it might just be best to head on over to Apple's Web site and check into their technical forums. Adobe isn't an Apple product, but it's rare for folks to just discuss Apple stuff on Apple's forums.

For some odd reason I have Zylka marked as a "buddy"

                          and

just the other day I saw his name there and wondered what he was up to
                          ...

                          I guess we'll never know
