He has been a failure at everything he has ever tried. So of course, he was appointed President.

In a sense, he's inspirational. No matter how big a ****up you are in your life, if you have the right friends, there's no telling where you might go. Now if I could just get friends like George has.

We haven't had a good leader since Carter. Every president since him has just been out for themselves, not the country.

Carter told us what we needed to hear, not just what we wanted to hear. By doing so he failed to get reelected, and that's what leaders do.

And we see what a screwed up administration that led to. Maybe being a good leader is overrated then .

Bush was arrogant, inexperienced and possessed with a dangerous amount of self-assuredness. He was obviously not ready to lead when elected. Americans seem set to correct that error, however, by electing someone even more arrogant, inexperienced and self-assured. Puzzling...

            Overrated? Yes, that's the problem.

Look, he's a failure as a husband, a failure as a father, a failure as a student, a failure as a solider, he failed to get elected to Congress, he failed at every business venture (no matter how many times Daddy's friends bailed him out), and he failed as governor of Texas. Should we really be surprised he failed as President?

Bush is the perfect example of why you shouldn't vote for someone because he "seems like a nice enough guy".

Not yet I haven't. I have until November to fail.

If pros and cons are opposing arguments, does that mean that congress is the opposite of progress?

Well according to Trev in the other thread, that could have been only just over a millennium ago
