Also today, Denmark beat Russia 25-24 in the Men's Handball. Not that I'm sure it was that well deserved.

But apparently the Russians aren't very successful these days, unless there's bombs and fighter planes involved.

Define "these days". We had a lot of sports victories this year.

                  Also, GJ Lithuania.

PS. Damn, I don't recognise my own posts with the face of Mishiko next to them.

No, I refuse to do anything of the sort! Let's just content ourselves with today's results.

Oh, the ending alone makes it deserved:

On the off chance that anybody who's not into handball will click that link - yep, scoring a goal on a capable goalie on a last second free throw from that spot is essentially like finding a needle in a haystack. But he did, and Denmark's only hope for gold apart from the rowing team makes a strong comeback.

(Edit: Last second, of course, not last minute.)

He-he. Thanks for posting that, Monk. For once, I decided to follow a YouTube link. That was rather a good shot.

Never before have I heard of the guy who scored though. Have you?

Edit: For the folks who don't know the sport, that shot was the absolute last chance to score in the match. It was 24-24, time had run out, and either way, it would be the very last shot of the game. Incredible to be able to settle the game in this way.

You're welcome, and no, I can't say I have. But maybe we're going to see some more of him. If the dudes get to the final somehow, will you actually watch it this time around, unlike the 2004 girlies handball final? At a bar or a friend's place or something, if you're so determined not to let a television into your house.

Oh, and Saras, this is not a total threadjack. We're, um... I'll get back to you...

I haven't thought about it until now. Could be, but I think I'd be just as happy not seeing it.

Call me strange, but I even had a hard time tolerating those two "expert" commentators in that ultra-short clip.

Yes, back to Saras. Provided he's sober at this point..
