    Oh, and obviously the only way to solve the problem is to command us to walk nude through the airport. The removing of shoes, that was just the first thing, y'know.

    We should get rid of the liberal approach to liquids too. What on earth were we thinking allowing people to bring (gasp) 100 ml of water on board?

        Yeah, the guys doing rsearch at Georgia Tech on this stuff were talking about making tank armor out of ceramics. I suspect that's a ways off though.

          Yeah, the guys doing rsearch at Georgia Tech on this stuff were talking about making tank armor out of ceramics. I suspect that's a ways off though.
          The current trama plates in modern military body armor are ceramic. They can stop very heavy/fast rounds, but only one as they shatter.

          Tank armor uses ceramics now IIRC, but it is a layer in a deeper armor system.

            The new plates do better than one round. They're still ceramic, but I think they added a metal backing of some kind now.
