LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Former "American Idol" runner-up Clay Aiken, who has gone onto a singing career, said his "dear friend," music producer Jaymes Foster, gave birth on Friday to a son fathered by Aiken.
Aiken, 29, wrote on his Web site that his child, named Parker Foster Aiken, was born at a hospital in North Carolina.
"My dear friend, Jaymes, and I are so excited to announce the birth of Parker Foster Aiken," he said.
The singer added that Parker is "healthy, happy and as loud as his daddy" and that Foster "is doing quite well."
Aiken was a runner-up on the second season of No. 1-rated TV talent show "American Idol" in 2003. In January he debuted in the Broadway musical "Monty Python's Spamalot."

Okay, two things.
One, since he didn't win American Idol I don't think it's fair that they get a plug every time something happens to Clay. Do you even remember who won? I didn't, it's Ruben "To big too sing" Studdard! Clay actually has a great career with awards and records made out of precious metals. Ruben? Well, he got a sandwich named after him, it man is it delicious
Second, wtf? The press is missing the big news here, the headline should read; "Clay Aiken Continues Stay in The Closet" or "Sorry Dudes, Clay Still Contests his Gayness". Anyway, I read another article that said that kid was born at 0808 on 080808, so thats pretty neat.
